Virtual Public Info Meeting Re: Rehabilitation of Putnam Bridge
Hosted by CT Dept of Transportation
- Date: 04/04/2024 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Location: Virtual Meeting Only
This meeting was updated on 3/12 to add project plan documents. See below.
The CT Department of Transportation (DOT) will host a virtual public information meeting on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 7:00 PM to discuss:
State Project No. 0053-0199 - Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00417 (Putnam Bridge)
Register (required): https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_YY70xV3OSHWwwqiJDdul2g
YouTube Livestream: https://portal.ct.gov/ctdotvpimarchive
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Question and Answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation.
The purpose of the project is to address the structural deficiencies of State Bridge No. 00417 (Putnam Bridge), which carries Route 3 over the Connecticut River, in order to maintain safe travel for all facility users and to maintain a “State of Good Repair.” The project includes repairing or replacing deficient structural members, improving the condition rating of all structural elements to “satisfactory” (6) or better, concrete deck patching, and installing a new waterproofing membrane and overlay.
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2026 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $24,408,000. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80 percent Federal funds and 20 percent State funds.
