GOLD Certified Municipality: 2024-2027
In 2024, Glastonbury achieved Gold level certification through the Sustainable CT program for the 3-year term of 2024-2027. Glastonbury earned its first Silver (former highest level) designation through the inaugural program in 2018, and subsequently in 2021. In 2024, Glastonbury was selected as 1 of only 5 communities statewide to receive the Gold (highest) level certification. The Town's application earned 855 points through 43 actions in a wide range of sustainable activities ranging from events to policies, staff training, infrastructure projects, and more. This far exceeded the 750 points required for Gold and emphasizes the Town's dedication to sustainable initiatives and commitment to community engagement.
Climate Leader Designation 2024
In 2024, Glastonbury also renewed its Climate Leader Designation, which "celebrates municipalities that are reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions and preparing their communities for the impacts of climate change, while saving money, improving public health, and building community."
Glastonbury's certification report for the 2024 application can be reviewed through the Sustainable CT website through the link below.
