Glastonbury is a great place for biking. This web page has information about local bicycling groups, trails, and bike-friendly community initiatives for residents and businesses. The Glastonbury community also has an active group of volunteers that help foster biking in Town. More information on their efforts can be found on the Bike Walk Glastonbury website.

- A number of bicycle clubs in town host rides on an ongoing basis and are great resources for riding, clubs, and bike services or equipment including:

Bicycle Master Plan
The Town has a Bicycle Master Plan with associated on-road and off-road bike route maps that include information on objectives and vision for the future of bicycling in town. The plan also has sample rides and great destinations for riding.
Bicycle Advisory Group
The mission of the Glastonbury Bicycle Advisory Group is to advise Town leadership on policies, programs, and facilities to continually enhance our Bicycle Friendly Community. The Bicycle Friendly Facility program recognizes local businesses and facilities that provide amenities to bicyclists. Participation is FREE and applicants that meet the minimum qualifications are provided with a custom window cling to display. - Show of Community Support
- Opportunity to Promote your Business/Facility to Bicyclists
How to Apply
In order to qualify as a BFF, you must be able to provide the following amenities:
- Bicycle parking that can accommodate a minimum of 4 bicycles and is visible from and close to the entrance it serves (approximately 50’ or less)
- Access to water for cyclists to refill their own water bottle at no charge
- Access to a restroom (whether bicyclist is a customer or not) in the business/facility or nearby (may be a portable restroom)
To apply, please download and complete the BFF Application
Completed applications should be sent to Town staff by e-mail or mail as follows:

- Open attachment from the email
- Save it your desktop or other location on your computer first
- Name the file using your Business Name
- Once saved, open it from the saved location and complete the application
- Once completed, save again and double check that it saved with your information
- Attach the document in an email to bff@glastonbury-ct.gov

Upon approval, you will receive an official letter and window cling. Additionally, your business/facility name, address, and website will be included on the Glastonbury BFF list.
