Open Flame/Burn Ban Implemented - The Town has instituted a ban on all open flames in response to the “Extreme Fire Risk” and record drought conditions in Hartford County as determined by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Division of Forestry. As of October 28, 2024, and pursuant to Section 7-21 of the Town Code of Ordinances, the Town of Glastonbury has banned all open flames until further notice. Read the full release.
Cotton Hollow Reopened with new safety rules - Effective October 1, 2024, Cotton Hollow has reopened to the public with new site regulations as approved by the Town Council. Through the amended Ordinance, picnicking, building of fires, and other activities are prohibited on site in an effort to protect the Preserve and support visitor safety. Read more here.
