As Department spokesman, the Public Information Officer coordinates the Department’s public information activities including releasing information concerning Departmental policies, programs, and plans. The Public Information Officer disseminates information and handles media inquiries about major and routine events, and is the Department contact with media at the scene of all major incidents where the media is present.
