K9 Program

In 2019, the Glastonbury Police Department added a K9 program to our scope of services to better serve the community.  Since that time, K9 Soleil, with the help of her handler Officer Neil Cavanaugh, has served as an integral member of the Police Department, assisting with a number of Police safety and community activities including:

  • Finding missing persons
  • Protecting police officers
  • Searching buildings
  • Providing support at public events

Program Funding

A fundraising account has been established to support Soleil's ongoing needs. Donations may be sent to the Glastonbury Police Department at the address listed below. Contributions will support Soleil's ongoing expenses including training, safety equipment, veterinary care, food, toys, and protective clothing. Checks should be made payable to the "Town of Glastonbury" with "K9 Program" in the check memo.  Donors will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax deduction purposes.
