We are pleased to announce that as of December 6, 2021, the Town of Glastonbury was certified as a member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. This recognition means that the Town has successfully completed its 3-year action plan and has met the criteria established by the State and National Affairs, AARP.
This achievement is the result of many hands-on community partners who worked to ensure that Glastonbury continues to be a well-designed livable community for residents of all ages, and adds to the many other distinctions that we share town-wide. For more information, please call 860-652-7646.

Past Efforts Re: This Initiative
A community conversation was held re: the Glastonbury Age-Friendly Community Action Plan Update on Thursday, October 20th from 6-8pm at the Riverfront Community Center. This session gathered public input on how Glastonbury can continue to provide the highest quality of life for its residents at every age. Topics will include three community priorities that were identified by residents throughout the Age-Friendly planning process: Open Spaces and Buildings, Transportation & Housing.
The conversation provided residents an opportunity to learn about the progress that has been made on the Town’s Age-Friendly Action plan, which was certified by the national AARP in December 2021, and provided an opportunity for residents to offer additional ideas and feedback on these issues.
