Thank you for your interest in becoming a Police Officer with the Town of Glastonbury. The Town's goal is to attract, develop, and retain a diverse, well qualified and professional workforce that reflects the high standards of the community.
The Town of Glastonbury has a continuous recruitment process for Entry-Level, Lateral and Comparative Certified Officers. The following qualifications must be met:
ENTRY LEVEL - must be a US citizen and at least 21 years old at time of appointment
1. Ability to pass written and Cognitive exam and interview with the Chief of Police
2. Ability to pass background investigation
3. Ability to pass physical and drug screen
LATERAL - Only considered to be current Connecticut Certified Officers.

2. Ability to pass background investigation
3. Ability to pass physical and drug screen
COMPARATIVE - Certified Police Officer outside the State of Connecticut.
1. Two (2) years law enforcement experience required and not more than three (3) years of separation from a law enforcement unit
2. Ability to pass Cognitive exam and oral panel interview
3. Ability to pass background investigation
4. Ability to pass physical and drug screen
Individuals being considered as a Comparative Certified Applicant must be approved by the POST-C Council prior to any final offer of employment. This includes a review of the applicants' entire training history including basic training curriculum.
