Applying to the Zoning Board of Appeals

Projects requiring relief or exemption from the Glastonbury Building-Zone Regulations may appeal to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). Applicants may also appeal adverse rulings of the Building Official and/or the Zoning Enforcement Officer to the Zoning Board.

What do you need to submit in an application?

  1. Completed application (see above)
  2. Detailed written project description
  3. Scaled plot plan 
  4. Building elevations
  5. Floor plans
  6. Other documents relevant to the application
  7. All application materials submitted as a single PDF document via email to lincoln.white@glastonburyct.gov, seon.altius@glastonburyct.gov AND Glynis.mckenzie@glastonburyct.gov
  8. Eleven (11) copies (packets) of all application materials, collated /folded & stapled/clipped
  9. Cash deposit for signpost of $10.00 (refunded with return of post within 30 days after meeting date)
  10. Check made payable to 'Town of Glastonbury' for the filing fee of $360.00 ($200 + $100 public hearing notice fee + $60 state fee - effective May 15, 2024)

Zoning Regulations

The Glastonbury Zoning Regulations are available for purchase in the Building Official's office. The cost is: $10.00 for the Book only, $20.00 for the Book with Map, and $10.00 for a Map only. The regulations are also available online in PDF format.
