The Glastonbury Town Center Initiative (GTCI) is proud to announce the return of the Fill the Food Bank event on Saturday, October 26th, from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Fountain Green. This community-driven initiative aims to stock our local food bank in preparation for the upcoming holiday season, ensuring that 100% of all donations remain in Glastonbury.

Donations will be collected in the right turn lane of Main Street onto Hebron Avenue, directly in front of the Fountain Green. Volunteer stations will be set up along the Main Street curb, where community members can safely drop off their contributions from their vehicles. In addition, GTCI will feature Halloween inflatables for our youngest attendees to enjoy.

To best meet the needs of our community, GTCI encourages targeted donations. We kindly ask for monetary gifts, including grocery cards, checks made payable to Glastonbury Gives, or cash for the Glastonbury Food Bank. Additionally, we invite donations of the following highly requested non-perishable items:

- Applesauce

- Canned pasta

- Macaroni and cheese

- Pasta sauce

- Peanut butter

- Canned tuna or chicken

- Canned vegetables

- Canned soup

- Personal care items

- Coffee and tea

- Snacks

- Detergent

- Dish soap

We believe that no one in our community should go hungry.  This event is an opportunity for us to come together, support one another, and ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.

With increasing numbers of residents, including seniors and working families, facing food insecurity, with food banks fighting to keep up with the demand. GTCI invites everyone to join this crucial fight against hunger. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in our community.
