Representatives from the CT DEEP Division of Forestry will host a guided walk through an area scheduled for an upcoming forest product harvest at Meshomasic State Forest as follows:

When: Thursday February 17^th
Time: 4 PM – 5 PM
Where: Meshomasic State Forest
Location: Attendees can meet at the end of Windham Road in Glastonbury

Natural resource managers from DEEP will lead RSVP’d attendees on a tour of E-1083, an upcoming forest regeneration operation being implemented by DEEP to regenerate a new cohort of oak and other hardwood species. We will also discuss the specifics of the harvest planning process, forest growth and climate benefits, and steps which will be taken to protect the site while accomplishing the desired silvicultural objectives.
