Understanding Dementia ~ Virtual Program

She will discuss the different forms of dementia, common symptoms that accompany memory loss, and communication techniques for real-world situations. Learn specific ideas to help caregivers build both empathy and understanding of dementia and provide practical tools for use when communicating with or assisting individuals with memory loss. Registration begins May 11, online or by calling the library’s Reference Department at 860-652-7720. Registration with a valid email address is required in order to receive login information on the day of the Zoom meeting.

About the presenter: Liz Cornish is a physical therapist with more than 30 years’ experience working in senior living communities throughout Connecticut. She continues to work as a homecare physical therapist in the Farmington Valley. Liz’s extensive experience and knowledge of area resources make her an invaluable asset for seniors and their families looking for guidance in obtaining the best care as they age. She understands the numerous and varied challenges that arise when seniors need help during the aging process.
