Youth and Family Services' (Y&FS) Creative Experiences produces licensed, musical theater three times per year, on varying scales. This program facilitates an opportunity for hundreds of residents and their families to be involved each year and the Fall and Summer selections are often productions that have previously been staged on Broadway. .
Residents are invited to participate at all levels and there are a wide variety of ways to include involved that suit all interests and abilities:
- performing on stage
- working behind the scenes on the technical crew
- stage management
- building and painting the sets
- sewing and creating costumes and/or making props
- styling hair and stage make-up
- playing in the pit orchestra
- designing and running an extensive lighting and sound operation.
In addition to multiple volunteer positions, the theater productions offer many young artists employment opportunities.
