Corrugated Cardboard Recycling
Effective July 2022, Glastonbury receives a rebate of $20/ton for all clean, corrugated cardboard collected. Accordingly, community members are encouraged to dispose of cardboard materials using designated containers to help save tax dollars!
Recycling Locations
Residents may dispose of clean, flattened, corrugated cardboard at two locations in town:
- GREEN container located at the Transfer Station (2340 New London Tpke.) - Permits required
- BLUE satellite container, located in the rear parking lot of Town Hall (2155 Main Street) - This container is available for RESIDENTIAL USE ONLY. Businesses/individuals with a high volume of cardboard should please take their materials to the Transfer Station
Cardboard Recycling Guidelines
Please flatten the cardboard and remove all packaging/non-cardboard materials before depositing in the designated, labeled containers to minimize volume and associated transportation expenses. Any partial contamination invalidates credit for a full container of cardboard. Thank you for your care in proper cardboard disposal.
