TITLE VI

Town of Glastonbury Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

Plan Summary

The Town of GLASTONBURY, as beneficiary of a federal 5310 grant, has developed a plan to ensure that individuals are not discriminated against in their efforts to obtain services from the Town of Glastonbury.  The Town has developed this plan to ensure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is the Federal Law that protects individuals and groups from discrimination on the basis of their race, color, national origin, disability/handicap, sex, age, or income status, in programs and activities.  The Glastonbury Senior Center will ensure that no person shall, on the grounds of the above listed categories, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity offered at the Senior Center.

The Senior Center is able to track who utilizes transportation through our excel-spreadsheet based tracking system. Through this system we track persons utilizing transportation by race, age, and disability.  The center has staffing options for translators or we encourage individuals to bring their own translator when needed.  We also have the option of using a translation program application if no other means are available.

Any person who believes that he or she has been discriminated against should contact the Senior Center Title VI Coordinator at 860-652-7646. The full description of our Title VI Plan and Complaint forms are accessible via the links below and at the Riverfront Community Senior Center.
