Friendship Circle Memory Program

The Friendship Circle is a social engagement program designed for seniors with early stage memory loss. The program provides the opportunity to gain the many benefits derived by being active and socially engaged with others.

The goal of the program is to help each participant maintain their optimal level of functioning in a supportive atmosphere. Activities are planned by a trained Program Coordinator based on the needs and interests of the group. Trained volunteers also assist the group. The program offers a variety of engaging mental and physical activities including music, arts and crafts, exercise, puzzles and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the company of others.

The group meets 4 days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm with an option for two days per week or four.

Enrollment starts with an assessment interview with the Program Coordinator and Social Services staff to ensure there is a good match between the program and individual's needs. Initial assessment and program trial determines eligibility for the program.

The town's free Dial-A-Ride service is available to bring participants to and from the program.
A monthly fee of $150 is charged for two days and $300 for four days to offset the cost of staff, lunch, and materials.
