The length of employment, hours and starting dates vary depending on the position. Staff are expected to work the entirety of the program. Pre-season training and preparation required for all positions. For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation office at (860) 652-7679. 

Group Leader (After School Program)

Under general supervision of the Site Leader, and Program Director, incumbent plans and implements recreation activities and provides group supervision. The program includes sports, arts and crafts, and games. 

This position would be responsible for oversight of the "After-School Adventures" program, which occurs Wednesdays from September - November, and then from March - May. Times would be from 1:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. 

Minimum Training and Experience

  • One (1) year of responsible experience working with children in a structured recreation program.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education certificate.

License or Certification

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must possess or be able to successfully attain, prior to the start of the program:
    • Standard First Aid and CPR certification
    • Epipen Education
