Pre-Harvest Site Walk - Meshomasic State Forest off Thompson Street

The CT DEEP Division of Forestry is planning a timber harvest on 34 acres of the Meshomasic State Forest off Thompson Street in Glastonbury. In anticipation of this planned work, a pre-harvest site walk is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 444 Thompson Street and near the intersection of Grandview Drive and Thompson Street. Pink flagging will be placed by the road at the planned meeting spot.

The site walk is open to the public and community members are invited and encouraged to attend. Site walks are designed to help increase transparency, make the community aware of forest management activities, and to address citizen questions/concerns prior to the commencement of harvest activity. CT DEEP mailed invitations directly to all neighboring landowners and homeowners proximate to the work area but all community members are welcome to attend.

RSVP (Requested)

Residents who plan on attending the pre-harvest walk should please RSVP in advance to CT DEEP representative Nathan Piche at (860) 306-9597 or Nathan.piche@ct.gov.
