Alcohol Server and Seller Training for Local Retailers/Restaurants

The Town of Glastonbury is hosting an Alcohol Server and Seller Training at the Academy Building on Tuesday, September 26th at 10:00 AM. The training will be conducted by Attorney Jerry Farell, from Connecticut Liquor Law, and will review Connecticut laws and regulations related to alcohol sales. Discussion will include: how to prevent sales to minors, carding, identity cards, age statement forms, transaction scan devices, volume of consumption, intervention techniques, drink promotions, and other legal prohibitions involved when serving alcohol.

This training will help support local retailers'/restaurants' ability to pass upcoming Compliance Checks to be conducted by the Town of Glastonbury, Department of Consumer Protection Liquor Control Division, and Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Ultimately, the Town's goal is to help reduce underage drinking by eliminating minors’ ability to purchase alcohol in Glastonbury.

We highly encourage all local retailers/restaurants who sell alcohol to have 1-2 representatives attend this training. This is an opportunity to create a positive change by helping all managers, sellers, and servers learn to properly check and ID minors when they are attempting to purchase alcohol.

All license permittees, managers, servers, and sellers are invited to attend this FREE training.
