Kits available while supplies last
- Date: 01/04/2022 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Update: Kit Supply Depleted
All of the kits have been distributed as of roughly 10:45/11:00 AM this morning. We will continue to post updates regarding any future events to the Town website as applicable. For anyone who was unable to obtain a kit today, at-home rapid test kits can also be purchased through a number of online retailers, (e.g. Amazon, CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.)
Original Posting:
As part of a state-wide COVID-19 testing distribution initiative, the Town of Glastonbury received a supply of rapid, at-home COVID-19 testing kits on Monday morning, 1/3. To help residents obtain these kits as soon as possible, the Town will host a community distribution event on Tuesday, January 4th.
The drive-thru style event will begin at 10:00 AM at Riverfront Park (Baseball Field entrance). This event is open to Glastonbury residents only and is intended for individuals who regularly come into contact with individuals outside of their household. Kits will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and proof of residency is required.
Beginning at 10:00 AM, motorists should access Welles Street from Naubuc Avenue. Once on Welles Street, please proceed past the Riverfront Community Center and Boathouse entrance and enter the second driveway of Riverfront Park, (the baseball field entrance). Town staff will be stationed on site to direct traffic, therefore please drive slowly through the site.
Please display proof of residency on your driver's side dashboard, (e.g. official identification, piece of mail), before approaching the pickup location. Upon reaching the site, residents will be asked to open their trunk or rear window, and staff will place the test kits into your vehicle. Please wear a mask and refrain from opening the driver's side window to minimize contact. Each vehicle will receive 2 COVID-19 rapid test kits, each containing 2 tests and instructions, or a total of 4 rapid tests. Please limit one vehicle per household. Test kits will be available on a first come, first served basis and while supplies last. After receiving your kits, motorists should follow traffic directions posted on site to exit.
Motorists are asked to begin lining up shortly before 10:00 AM. Please do NOT line up before 8:30 AM to help avoid road blockages. All residents should plan for heavy traffic in the Welles Street area for the morning and early afternoon on Tuesday, January 4th. Additionally, motorists who are NOT attending the distribution event are encouraged to avoid travel on Welles Street between the hours of 8:30 am and 12:00 noon, as possible. We appreciate your patience as we look to distribute these kits within a very short turnaround time.
If you are unable to attend this event, at-home rapid test kits can be purchased through a number of online retailers, (e.g. Amazon, CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.)
Additional events are subject to receipt of additional test kits and will be scheduled as possible. We will continue to post any updates to the Town website as applicable. Glastonbury has also signed up to receive N-95 masks and expects those to be made available in the coming weeks. The schedule and quantity of masks is not yet known, therefore the Town will publish updates to the Town website as soon as it becomes available.
