This event is timely because the Town Council-appointed Affordable Housing Steering Committee has drafted an affordable housing plan for Glastonbury, and will host a public meeting in January on the draft, before sending it to Town Council for review and approval. A 2017 Connecticut public law requires all towns to have plans in place by July 2022 that specify how they intend to increase their affordable housing developments. In addition, over the upcoming months, the Town Council will be considering whether some of the $10.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act monies to be awarded Glastonbury should be used for affordable housing.
