Ella Waters Concert Series: Classical Guitarist Francesco Barone

Library Program for Adults

Classical Guitarist Francesco BaroneFrancesco Barone will present a recital of guitar music from Eastern and Western Europe. The first half of the program will feature the music of Western Europe, including Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Tarentella as well as lute suite by Johann Sebastian Bach, whose works are known to represent the regional styles Italy, France and Germany. The second half will include music of Eastern Europe, including the Ballads Suite by Russian composer Nikita Koshkin. Seating is limited, so reservations are required online or at the library’s Reference Desk at 860-652-7720.

The music series is presented by the Friends of Welles-Turner Memorial Library and Welles-Turner Memorial Library in memory of Isabella Waters, who was a generous library supporter.

About Francesco Barone: Francesco Barone has performed throughout the Northeast United States and in Italy as a soloist and chamber musician. He has been featured on a La Bella Strings sponsored concert, was a prizewinner in the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society Competition and has had performances broadcasted on NPR. He received a MM from and is a current DMA candidate at The Hartt School, where he studies under Professor Emeritus of Guitar Richard Provost and holds a BM from Temple University.
