Take Your Child to the Library Day

Library Program for Families with Children

Take Your Child to the Library Day-Rabbit FamilyA day of fun for everyone! Get a library card for everyone in the family (kids, bring Mom or Dad and proof of Glastonbury residence). All programs are free, and no registration is needed. Also enjoy refreshments, crafts and surprise activities during the day's programs.

9:30 am-4:30 pm: Very Hungry Mini-Golf (for families with children of all ages) ~ Children's Department

Families will want to try for a hole-in-one playing a yummy round of miniature golf at the library! Teams may pick up their score cards, golf clubs and balls in the Children's Department before teeing off.

10-10:45 am: Very Hungry Caterpillar's 50th Birthday (for families with children ages 3-8) ~ Friends Room

Come celebrate the birthday of everyone's favorite caterpillar. Families will enjoy the classic story, along with activities, a craft and one of caterpillar's favorite snacks.

2:30-3:15 pm: Eileen Packard (for families with children ages 3-10) ~ Friends Room

Stories, songs, puppets and poems all come together when Glastonbury author and illustrator Eileen Packard comes to the library. This former teacher at the Glastonbury/East Hartford Magnet School is also a puppeteer and musician. Copies of her books will be available to purchase.
