Membership Registration opens Tuesday, September 17th at 8:00 a.m. Passes cover all Open Gym programs for Glastonbury residents and non-residents where applicable.

If you had a physical key tag from last years open gym season, that pass will work upon purchase of an open gym pass for this season. Otherwise, you will receive a digital pass. If you would like a physical key tag please stop by the Parks and Recreation office to swap it out. This key tag can also be used if you purchased a pool pass this past summer as well. 

Daily admission can be purchased online and in person (with the exception of pickleball which is online only)

Daily Fee: $5 Residents/ $10 Non-Residents

Season Pass: $50 Residents/ $70 Non-Residents (Over 30 Basketball)/ $90 Non-Residents (Volleyball)

With the popularity of the sports, if you are aware you are unable to attend a specific open gym night you registered for, please be sure to fill out a form so your spot can be given to another participant. 

NOTE: Having an Open Gym membership pass does not carry benefits of registering for open gym prior to others. The only benefit of an open gym pass is not paying daily admission when going to open gym programming. Pre-registration opens at the same time for pass holders and non-pass holders. 

Pickleball (October - April)

For Glastonbury Residents ONLY. Must be 18 and over and have graduated High School.

When possible, this program will be held two Thursdays per month, dependent on school availability.

Due to the popularity of the sport, we will be requiring pre-registration for pickleball open gym for both passholders, and daily registrants. PRE-REGISTRATION WILL BE ONLINE ONLY! We will not take registrations over the phone.

*MEMBERSHIP HOLDERS - The daily fee will be deducted to a $0 balance at check out when you are registering.

Pre-Registration Information
If you are looking to pre-register for pickleball, you must have a MyRec account. Please be sure to create one for pre-registration. You will use this account to pre-register for each month. Pre-registration can be completed HERE.

Pre-registration will be opening on the second to last Tuesday of each month for the following month. Please see a schedule below: 

• October: Tuesday, September 17th at 8:00 a.m.
• November: Tuesday, October 22nd at 8:00 a.m.
• December: Tuesday, November 19th at 8:00 a.m.
• January: Tuesday, December 17th at 8:00 a.m.
• February: Tuesday, January 21st at 8:00 a.m.
• March: Tuesday, February 18th at 8:00 a.m.
• April: Tuesday, March 18th at 8:00 a.m.

Program Information:

• Seven courts will be available for play with people of varying abilities. 
• Registration is limited to 30 people
• THIS IS A NON-INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR SOCIAL PLAY WITH OTHER PICKLEBALL PLAYERS. 
• All players will be responsible for managing score and court rotation. Staff will not be responsible for keeping score, declaring winners, etc. 
• Balls will be provided for play. You must bring your own rackets. 

Adult Basketball

For Glastonbury Residents ONLY. Must be 18 and over and have graduated High School.

Mondays 7:30- 9:30 PM at Smith Middle School Main Gym
Saturdays 2:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Glastonbury High School
Sundays 1:00 PM- 5:00 PM at Glastonbury High School

Over 30 Pick-Up Basketball

For adults 30 and over. Open to Glastonbury residents and non-residents.

Tuesdays 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at Smith Middle School Main Gym

Adult Volleyball

For adults 18 and over and out of high school. Open to Glastonbury residents and non-residents.

Enjoy a friendly pick-up game with men and women of various skills. Recreational style play for everyone!

For the 2024-2025 season, pre-registration will be optional but highly recommended. Maximum number of players per night will be capped at 35. If spots remain after pre-registration, walk-ins will be taken up until the cap of 35 people is hit.

Helpful Information

• Unfortunately, we are unable to add additional courts due to the main gym at Smith Middle School not being lined for volleyball and other schools unavailable for use/not having lines for volleyball. 
• Pre-registration is strongly recommended as priority will be given to those who pre-register. Walk ins will be taken on a first come first serve basis and is capped once 35 players are hit. 

Youth Basketball

For youth 17 years and younger. This program is for Glastonbury residents only and is FREE.

• Children in grade 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
• Participants must bring their student ID to present to the staff if they have one.
• Participants MUST be picked up by the end of the program (9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 5:00 p.m. on Sundays)
• If participants are not following the rules, they will be asked to leave open gym and parent contact will be attempted based on the information that is given to open gym staff.

Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at Smith Middle School (Main & Aux Gyms)
Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Glastonbury High School
Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Glastonbury High School
